Why I'm a part of Ubunye: I learned of the Ubunye Challenge when Cameron Bellamy achieved the “impossible” and swam around my island home in 2018! I was greatly inspired by both the incredible dedication required to undertake such an extreme endurance feat and the admirable use of the attention generated to support children in poor, rural areas in Africa. I am a firm believer in the power of education and especially the crucial importance of an early start to education which is well documented. I was fortunate to have had access to excellent educational opportunities from a young age and hope to contribute in some small way towards others having this same privilege.
